My Favourite Book
Different persons like to read different books. Books are the sources of knowledge. They are very much valuable things. A book is a set of printed pages that are fastened inside a cover. They are written in different languages and topics or subjects.
I have to read many course books in school. They are Nepali, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies and so on. I like all these subjects. Besides course books, my parents also suggest me to read extra books during the holidays. I am also very much interested to read extra books other than the course books. So, in my free time, I study these types of books like play, fiction, storybooks, poems, and so on. I have read many books up-to now. Among them, I like the most ‘Muna-Madan‘. It was written by our great poet Laxmi Prasad Devkota. It contains a very important message.
According to the book, there is a village where a very poor family survives. In that family, there are mainly three family membersMadan, his wife Muna and his old mother. Anyway, Madan goes to Lhasa leaving his wife and old mother with a hope to earn money. On the way, while returning, he becomes sick. A Tibetan man sees him and takes him to his house for treatment. On the other hand, his wife and his mother suffer a lot at home. Somebody exposes the wrong message that Madan has already died to his wife and mother. They cannot bear such a message. They suffer a lot and die. When Madan arrives at his home, he is very upset to see this kind of unexpected and sorrowful situation. In this way, the story ends up.
Among the many books in the market, I like this book because it has a very heart-touching story in verse. The book has given the true message and so it is the book, I like the most. Hence, my favorite book is Muna-Madan.
